Organization
The SISS is an association. Members of the association are the participating institutes.
The institute essentially consists of faculty and researchers of the different institutes. People are eligible for faculty or researcher positions if
- they are employed by one of the members
- they are doing research in the field of service science
- they share their research results with the others in seminars, presentations, etc.
- are actively creating common research projects, especially with colleagues of other institutes
The main activity of the institute is to perform applied research projects, typically together with one or more Swiss companies, and led by one or several of the participating researchers, and to disseminate the results within Switzerland.

Additional activities include:
- On a regular basis, there are research colloquia where the researchers present projects. This will bring the community together and create the basis for common project ideas.
- On a regular basis, the institute will organize “project generation events”
- The institute will provide an email newsletter
- The institute will host international conferences on service science.
- The institute will maintain an information platform for Researchers as well as Partners.
